Parishioners and Friends,

With great enthusiasm, we look forward to taking the next step in fulfilling our Parish Master Plan. In our parish survey and conversations with all our organizations and ministries, most of you expressed a readiness and willingness to address the physical needs of our beautiful campus. St. Barnabas is a parish of faith-filled people who can accomplish any goal we set before ourselves through the grace of God.

The theme of our campaign, Imagine. Innovate. Inspire., reflects who we are and what we do, and encourages us to move forward into our second century of faithful service to our people and community.

Pastor

IMAGINE CAMPAIGN TO BEGIN CONSTRUCTION PLANNING

The Imagine Campaign Leadership Committee met on Oct. 3 to begin planning for the construction of the Education Center and renovation of the Church basement.

The Campaign has reached a critical mass of fundraising: $3,202,048 pledged and $1,535,862 paid as of mid-September.  While this is short of the Campaign goal of $5 million, the Committee expects that it will take a year to secure final drawings, obtain permits and prepare for groundbreaking.  The Campaign planned for three years of fundraising (2016-2018) with groundbreaking in 2019.  To adhere to this schedule, coordination with the architect must resume while fundraising continues.

Both Fr. Donovan and Fr. Malloy attended the meeting.  Fr. Donovan reiterated his commitment to the Campaign, explaining that he sees the Campaign as something more than just about a building.  The Campaign is about the St. Barnabas’ community being a witness to Catholic values and leaving a legacy to our children and generations to come.  He said that St. Barnabas always wants to be the best and reinvesting in our facilities is the way to keep it the best.

The Leadership Committee will meet monthly.  Several subcommittees were set up to follow up on communications, event planning, alumni giving, matching gifts, naming opportunities and construction planning.

Fundraising will continue.  Pledges can be made at Give Central or by using the green envelope sent in your monthly Offertory envelope packet.  Or contact the Rectory for a pledge card.  Pledges can be fulfilled over three years in installments according to the needs of your budget.  Please be generous as you think about how important St. Barnabas has been to you and your family, and the legacy you would like to leave to its future as the best parish around.

Thank you.

Rob Hart on behalf of The Imagine Campaign Leadership Committee
