Current Service Needs:
- The Shelters supported by many of our parishioners are in full swing for the cold months. Volunteers are always welcome. We have particular need of help on Sunday night to Monday morning at an Oak Lawn shelter. Flexible shifts are for 2-3 or 4 hours, one or more times per month. For any questions please call the Rectory at 773-779-1166, ext. 0.
- We are looking for a few more parishioners to assist us at Evergreen Health Care on Saturday mornings from 9:30am-10:45am at 101st and Kedzie. As long as the weather permits, we wheel and take residents to the courtyard; during the frigid months, we stay inside and spend our time in fulfilling conversation. Any questions, call the Rectory at 773-779-1166, ext. 0.
- The Women’s Center of Greater Chicagoland is looking for VOLUNTEERS. We need drivers to get donations to our ‘south side’ family room in Calumet City. We need help sorting clothes in both Chicago & Calumet City. Any questions? Call Jackie 773-794-8807 or jkeenan@womens-center.org. Parish contact: Beth Devane, 773-239-2639 or bdevane@aol.com.
- Warming Shelter: During the months of January and February, we host a warming center in the Church Hall on Sundays from2pm -5:30pm for those in need. Food and refreshments are offered in addition to a place to spend a warm afternoon. If you would like to assist in some way, please call the Rectory at 773-779-1166, ext. 0.
- A number of parishioners serve sandwiches and soup on Saturday mornings (11:15-12:30) to those in need in nearby Robbins. People can help by preparing sack lunches or by helping with delivery and distribution. For information about helping, contact Tom Nine, 773-881-8961.
