CURRICULUM

The basic curriculum includes Religion, Spanish, Reading, Language Arts, Spelling, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, computer Science, Music Art and Physical Education. The student-teacher ratio is 26-1.

The school also offers students the following educational opportunities:

- utilization of the Library/Resource Center.

-Accelerated Reading Program in grades 2-8.

-Great Books Program for children in grades 2-8.

-an in-school and out-of-school cultural program, which includes performances, trips to city museums, etc.

-opportunity to participate in a variety of school performances and assemblies.

-involvement in Student Council.

-learning through Audio-Visual Media use.

-band lessons in grades 4-8.

-string lessons in grades 1-8.

-sports program for boys and girls in grades 1-8.

-optional extra-curricular opportunities, i.e. Cooking, Creative Writing, Quilling, Sign Language, etc.

-use of the special resource teacher's services, as needed.

-encouragement of students to develop their talents, i.e. Contest participation, Talent Search opportunities etc.

-referrals to outside resources when the child's needs become specialized, i.e. Speech therapy, family therapy, learning disabilities, diagnostic testing, etc.

-a full computer lab.
