ADMISSION POLICY

Within the limitation of class size, all students who satisfy the following requirements will be accepted for enrollment in St. Barnabas School, without exception to race or national origin.

Basic Requirements for Admission

  • Students are baptized Catholics
  • Each student's family is registered in the parish.
  • Student and family (or guardian) ordinarily lives within the geographical boundaries of the parish.
  • Non-Catholics are accepted under certain conditions:

·  - Parents participate in informational sessions regarding the Catholic faith as offered at St. Barnabas

- All students participate in all religious instructions and worship activities.

- No student is required to become a baptized Catholic

·  - Parents understand the Church subsidy program and agree to current non-Catholic tuition policy

  SCHOOL ORGANIZATION

St. Barnabas enrolls approximately 437 students in grades Pre-School through eight. The class size at St. Barnabas is limited by School Board Policy to 32 children per classroom. Current class enrollment rages from 21 to 31 students.

Early Childhood - consists of a 3 year old and 4 year old Preschool and full day and 1/2 day development education Kindergarten classes.

Primary - includes 1, 2 and 3. Classes are primarily self-contained with little departmentalization.

Intermediate - Includes grades 4, 5 and 6. Subject areas are departmentalized.

Junior High - includes grades 7 and 8. Student areas are departmentalized.
