St. Barnabas Awards & Recognition
2008:
Quiz Bowl – Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl is a computer based national contest for elementary school students in grades 5-8. Students compete against hundreds of other schools around the country, in the subjects of math, geography, government, sports, spelling, science, literature, English, history, and general trivia. Points are awarded based on how fast they answer as well as on accuracy.
Both 5th and 6th grades St. Barnabas students participated on State and National levels with awards as follows:

High School Scholarships:
High school scholarships were awarded based upon outstanding test scores on the high school entrance exam. St. Barnabas 8th grade students were awarded Scholarships from the following schools:

Midwest Academic Talent Search:
Midwest Academic Talent Search (MATS) is a program of the Center for Talent Development (CTD) that offers above-grade-level testing for academically talented students in grades 3-9.
Sixteen St. Barnabas students were presented certificates for selection and participation in the Midwest Talent Search sponsored by Northwestern University.
Future City Competition
Future City National Competition, sponsored by National Engineers Week, is a program introducing 7th & 8th grade students to engineering with the popular Sim City software. Students design future cities with simulation software, build scale models, write essays and give oral presentations on their city's design.
