Learning Support Parent Group

A Parent Support Group for Children with Special Learning Needs

The St. Barnabas Learning Support Group addresses a broad spectrum of special learning needs. Traditional learning challenges such as Dyslexia, AD/HD, Auditory/Visual Processing Disorder, Sensory Integration Disorder, etc. are discussed. We also explore the unique challenges and special needs of gifted children.

Our goal is to provide an informal and safe environment for parents to share information, strategies, and resources that support our children. Whether you’ve had your child diagnosed or are still in the discovery stages of identifying what may cause learning challenges for your child, this group can help.

The parent group teams with the St. Barnabas Resource Teaching Staff to foster a positive learning experience and environment for our children. We meet every 2 months. If you have an interest in this group or would like to learn more, please consider attending one of our meetings. Newcomers are always welcome.

In addition to periodic meetings, we also organize guest speaker events with “subject matter experts” on a variety of topics. Anyone with an interest is welcome and encouraged to attend. Events will be announced in the school newsletter and church bulletin.
