SAFETY

Ensuring our children’s safety is paramount.
St. Barnabas School has the following safety measures in place to protect them:

• All parents and visitors must identify themselves before being admitted into the school. There is a security system in place.
• Upon entry, visitors must sign in at the office and wear identity badges.
• Students are not allowed to open doors for visitors.
• There are specific drop off and pick up procedures for drivers to follow.
• A school safety patrol is in place to assist in the safe conduct of students to and from school.
• Crossing guards are available at major intersections
• Fire, tornado, evacuation and lock down drills are held on a regular basis.
• All staff and volunteers must comply with the Archdiocesan program “Protection for All God’s Children”
• In the event of an emergency, a Crisis Management Plan will be put into action. It is available in each classroom and on file in the principal’s office for review.
• Teachers are trained in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
