After-School Enrichment Program
The St. Barnabas Family and School Association (FSA) is once again offering fun and enriching classes to our students. The following classes are now available for the Winter-Spring 2012 session only. More classes may be added. For more information or questions, contact Heather Cleveland or Kerry Esselman at stbarnabasase@yahoo.com.
- Class sizes are limited, so sign up soon! CLASSES WILL BE FILLED ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS.
- Fees must accompany the registration form to reserve your spot in the class. Checks can be made payable to: St. Barnabas FSA.
- You will be contacted via email with information regarding your child’s class once their registration has been processed.
- If a class is closed due to full enrollment or cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
ADVENTURES IN ART
Who: Kindergarten – 3rd grades

Do you love art? Would you like to spend more time creating interesting projects? You will do just that in this class! Picture books and excerpts from popular chapter books will be read before creating each art project related to the topics that are discussed.
CHESS CLUB
Who: Kindergarten - 8th grades

Do you love hanging out in the kitchen? Do you have a fondness for food? Joining this class will have you learning about a new topic and creating a delicious treat each week. Students will also discuss sanitation, nutrition, how to read labels, following recipes and the proper use of the most common kitchen tools.

Are you one of our returning cartoonists or did you hear about the fun others had last spring and can't wait to join in too? This class will meet the needs of both beginning and returning cartoonists. Learn the basics and fundamentals of cartooning such as exaggerated features, lettering, character creation and setting! All students (beginning and returning) will work at their own pace and skill level to develop characters, create scenes and even evoke basic dialogues. Together we will explore what makes cartoons work - elements of surprise or a funny twist - and how to capture that in a drawing.
DUCT TAPE CREATIONS

Duct tape is not just for home repairs anymore. Using colorful duct tape, simple directions and a little imagination, you will be amazed at what you can make out of this sticky stuff in just a short amount of time! Join this fun class and get stuck on this new craze!
SCRAPBOOKING

Calling all young scrapbookers! Students will learn to crop and display their photographs, as well as write short captions describing their pictures. A variety of stickers and scrapbook papers will be available to further enhance their work. (Students need to bring their own pictures for each class)
