SAFETY
Ensuring our children’s safety is paramount.
St. Barnabas School has the following safety measures in place to protect them:
All parents and visitors must identify themselves before being admitted into the school. There is a security system in place.
Upon entry, visitors must sign in at the office and wear identity badges.
Students are not allowed to open doors for visitors.
There are specific drop off and pick up procedures for drivers to follow.
A school safety patrol is in place to assist in the safe conduct of students to and from school.
Crossing guards are available at major intersections
Fire, tornado, evacuation and lock down drills are held on a regular basis.
All staff and volunteers must comply with the Archdiocesan program “Protection for All God’s Children”
In the event of an emergency, a Crisis Management Plan will be put into action. It is available in each classroom and on file in the principal’s office for review.
Teachers are trained in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
