Additional Ways to Give
St. Barnabas depends upon the weekly Sunday Offertory as its main source of funding. Other ways to financial support St. Barnabas are described below.
Church and School Capital Improvement Funds
The Captial Improvement Funds are the savings accounts for the church and the school. By building these funds over time, we are able to finance major planned capital improvement projects, unexpected needs, as well "wish list" items identified by our Parish Leadership Team. Parishoners, alumni and other constitutents may support these initiatives through a direct donation or bequest. If you have questions or would like to donate to this fund, contact Gail Byrnes, Parish Business Manager at 773-779-1166 ext. 227.
Endowment Foundation
The Endowment Foundation was created to ensure that the future of St. Barnabas is as brilliant as its past. The goal of the Foundation is to build an endowment exclusively for the benefit of St. Barnabas Parish and School.
You may make a gift or bequest of any size to the St. Barnabas Endowment Foundation. Upon making a commitment to the endowment, you will be enrolled in the St. Barnabas Guild unless you wish to remain anonymous.
If you are interested in contributing to the St. Barnabas Endowment Foundation, contact Gail Byrnes, Parish Business Manager at 773-779-1166 ext. 227.
Grant-In-Aid
The Grant-In-Aid program provides tuition assistance to St. Barnabas School families experiencing financial hardship. Recipients must be Catholic and registered, active members of the parish.
Parishioners and other individuals are encouraged to make contributions to the Grant-in-Aid program by using the yellow envelopes, designated for the Education Fund, in the regular Sunday collection. Additionally, you may request that donations be made to the Education Fund in remembrance of a deceased loved one. If you have any questions or would like to donate to this fund, please contact the St. Barnabas Rectory at 773-779-1166. The program is also funded through a portion (50%) of Market Day profits.
Gifts of Stock
Another way to give of your Treasure is to consider a donation of stock or securities to St. Barnabas. You can transfer stock or securities in three ways: electronically, registered mail or hand delivered. Please contact Gail Byrnes at 773-779-1166 before the transfer so that St. Barnabas can make arrangements with its broker to receive the stock.
Estate Planning
Consider remembering St. Barnabas in your Estate plans. Planned giving perpetuates your generosity even after you are deceased. As the Catholic faith teaches, your spirit will live on. A planned investment in St. Barnabas helps ensure the long-term operation of the parish and its mission for generations to come. Please contact Gail Byrnes at 773-779-1166 if you would like more information on making a planned gift to St. Barnabas.
