Dance and Music Ministries

Liturgical Dancers

St. Barnabas embraces the gift of dance as part of its special celebrations of the Eucharist. Young members of the parish are invited to enhance the prayer of the assembly through movement and gesture. The Liturgical Dancers are especially important during the Christmas and Easter seasons and for other major celebrations of faith.

Music Ministry

Music is an exciting and fulfilling ministry with the power to express what words cannot. Music touches the soul, heals the heart and enhances our prayer. It is a wonderful way to give back to God the talents and gifts God has bestowed upon us. St. Barnabas has many opportunities to become involved in Music Ministry.

St. Barnabas Adult Choir is a dynamic, vibrant and energetic choir including both the young and the old gathered as one. We lead the song of the assembly at the 10 am liturgies from September through May. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 pm in church. Anyone high school age and older who loves to sing is invited and encouraged to join us for this spiritually and musically uplifting experience.

St. Barnabas Festival Choir
leads the music for the Thanksgiving, Christmas, Holy Week and Easter liturgies along with any other special parish celebrations. The choir is made up of the St. Barnabas Adult Choir and Festival Choir Members. If you would like to join in the ministry of music, but cannot commit on a regular basis, this may be the opportunity for you! Festival Choir members need only participate in the Festival Choir rehearsals and liturgies. Anyone high school age and older is invited to join the Festival Choir.

St. Barnabas Cantors lead the song of the assembly at our weekend liturgies. Anyone high school age and older may serve as a cantor. Audition/Training is required.

St. Barnabas Instrumentalists enhance our liturgies and choirs with their beautiful instrumental music. Experienced instrumentalists are invited to join us! We are always open to adding new instruments and instrumentalists!

St. Barnabas Children’s Choir is a vibrant, energetic and dynamic choir made up of children in grades 3-8. The Children’s Choir leads the song of the assembly once a month at the 10:00 am liturgy from September through May. They also sing on Christmas Eve and join with the Adult Choir for other special liturgies throughout the year. The Children’s Choir rehearses on Wednesday afternoons from 2:45-4:00 PM in church. All children in grades 3-8, regardless of the school they attend, are invited and encouraged to join us!
